Netflix Launched The First Official Trailer For Upcoming Series ‘When They See Us’

Netflix relentlessly serves us web series, shows which people can’t skip. Today, Netflix again takes out one more marvelous story for us from its goodie bag. Netflix series‘When They See Us’ trailer launched today.

Netflix’s ‘When They See Us’ is based on a true story that gripped the country, this series will chronicle the notorious case of five teenagers of color, labeled the Central Park Five, who were convicted of a rape they did not commit.

Netflix series ‘When They See Us’ is an upcoming American drama web television miniseries created by Ava DuVernay. DuVernay also serves as a writer for the series and is expected to direct every episode. In addition to DuVernay, Attica Locke, Robin Swicord, and Michael Starrburry also serve as writers on the limited series.

Let me inform you that ‘When They See us’ series documents the Central Park jogger case from 1989 in which a jogger was attacked in Central Park in New York City. Five juvenile males – four African American and one Hispanic – were subsequently convicted of the crime before being exonerated in 2002 and the settlement reached with the city of New York in 2014.

The series features an ensemble cast including Jharrel Jerome, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, Michael K. Williams, Vera Farmiga, John Leguizamo, Felicity Huffman, Famke Janssen, Niecy Nash, Reece Noi,Aunjanue Ellis, Kylie Bunbury, and Storm Reid.

This series is all set to premiere on May 31 this year. The series also reveals that having been vilified by New Yorkers back in the late 80s and forced to spend years in jail each, the five sued New York City and settled for just over $40 million about four years ago.
